Location of Cuba!!
Hey! Did you know Cuba, which is the largest Caribbean island, it is located in between The Bahamas & Jamaica. Cuba is at the distance of 90 miles from Florida. Cuba is a part of the Caribbean countries. Also, Cuba is located next to Haiti. There is a Yucatan Channel that lies in the western part of the island.
Natural Resources of Cuba
About 30 percent of Cuba's land has arable land. Cuba is known for its rich land. Well, because of Cuba's location in the middle of the ocean, they do have alot of fishing products there. Some of Cuba's best natural resources is nickel, wood and petroleum. All of the natural resources in Cuba are Cobalt, nickel, iron ore, copper, manganese, salt, timber, silica, and petroleum.
The Environmental Problems!
Our environmental problems are dealing with air and water pollution, deforestation, and biodiversity loss. We are dealing with air and water pollution because, in Cuba they use mostly diesel vehicles. That's one of the main causes of air pollution. About 90 percent of Cuba is covered with forests. In the Castro government, they had cut down 1.24 million acres of trees in Cuba. That reduced Cuba's forests down to about 50 percent of trees left in Cuba. And last, biodiversity loss. First, biodiversity is the diversity upon plants and animal species in an environment. So, that means the diversity of plant & animal species in the environment is going down slowly.
The environment and geography affects the people there because, it is some plant that produces toxic wastes and it forces some people out of their homes. How the people affect the environment is where they live because, the people take most of the space up.
The Climate of Cuba!!!
The climate of Cuba is temperate ( Temperate is a climate between tropical and polar). Cuba's average temperature is 21 degrees celsius(70 farenheit). The mean temperature in Havana is almost about 25 degrees celsius, which is 77 degrees farenheit.
